About Bano Puratos:
Founded in 1995, Bano has placed itself on the market of supplying innovative products of raw materials, utensils and machinery for the industries of Chocolate, Bakery, Pastry, Ice cream and Horeca with the vision of supplying only under the name of quality.
Challenges:
Bano is a big company with more than 14 branches worldwide, thus it needed a full ERP system on top of Odoo ERP to streamline the operations of its business. After searching among several software solutions and comparing between them, Odoo was chosen being extremely user friendly, open-source and easy to customize. Adding to that, they needed a system that will drive Bano more towards the road of development and digital transformation. Moreover, they didn’t have a manufacturing system and they needed a system that can be customized to include a special calculation part for the manufacturing costing, taking into account various production overhead. Furthermore, Bano Puratos had a stock that was independent from the system they were working on for the Warehouse management which is why any system they needed had to be customizable.
Solutions:
1. Manufacturing Solution
The manufacturing module was customized to fit the specific needs of food manufacturing taking into account yield management, reuse of products and scrap to minimize waste and partial production.
In addition to serving various functionalities like production planning, machine scheduling, raw material usage.
Some of the main parts implemented and customized by Azkatech in the module were the manufacturing management (from creating bill of materials into using the master production schedule), along with a reporting section that manages traceability, cost analysis and overall equipment effectiveness.
Bano Trading was able to calculate different costs of production and overhead, split the cost per different components and reflect those costs into different accounts when posted in the cost of goods sold (COGS) thus a finer granularity of the COGS.
2. Quality Control
Bano Trading were able to implement the quality control through all their process from procurement till delivering to the final client.
They implemented quality control points on the below areas:
- Upon receiving the products from suppliers they collected information about expiry dates, raw material specific measures and visual inspection.
- During the production, they collected random samples, controlled by the system and measured different quality metrics.
- Before delivering to the client, all metrics were reported to the quality control team that allowed them to have detailed quality reports and take actions when there are issues long before they escalate and allowed them to do root cause analysis.
3. Maintenance
An implementation of automated preventive maintenance which included mean time between failure, mean time to repair and expected next failure date, in addition to organizing the maintenance requests, increasing overall equipment effectiveness and an implementation of the dashboard & statistics to track performance and create custom KPIs.
4. CRM & Sales
CRM module, Customer Relationship Management helps to boost the sales performance through better customer service & building a healthy relationship with customers. All the stored details of customers are available in CRM module. The purpose of it is to organize the pipeline, acquire leads and analyze the performance; As for the sales, it included sales quotations and invoicing methods.
5. Warehouse Management
Bano Trading managed a multiple warehouse across different countries. Each warehouse consisted of different locations specialized for different storage functions or using for production or shipments.
The mobile friendly interface, empowered them to use the app on the handheld devices with support for barcodes without the need to invest in expensive mobile applications.
They benefited from out of the box features like automatic reordering rules thus minimizing chances for shortage, streamlining deliveries and order.
Their inventory was managed via serial numbers and lot numbers that allowed them to trace their products from the raw material, thru production till the final delivery.
